Community-Driven Ecosystem Management: Alexandra Morton in conversation with Paul Molyneaux

Join us online or at the Lubec Library on Fri. April 24th at 10:00a for a presentation by eminent whale biologist Alexandra Morton, moderated by National Fisherman journalist Paul Molyneaux.
About our speakers:
30 years ago, Alexandra Morton found she could no longer ignore impacts of salmon pens in the habitat of her beloved cetaceans and their prey. She has devoted decades of science and passionate advocacy within a massive coalition of local actors to finally force the regulators to remove salmon pens from the vital migratory routes of endangered salmon and incredible wild fish ecosystems of British Columbia. About the Cobscook Bay Ecology Series
The Cobscook Bay Ecology Series is presented by Greenhorns and Downeast Salmon Federation. This series is a community gathering that brings together neighbors, fishermen, scientists, and local leaders to learn about and celebrate the remarkable ecology of Cobscook Bay and the greater Downeast coast. Through thoughtful conversation and shared learning, the series explores how industrial open net-pen salmon farming affects our waters, while empowering our community with the knowledge needed to care for the health of our bay and the working waterfronts that sustain us.
