Community Tour: Cherryfield Fish Passage Improvement Project

August 28 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at one of Maine’s most exciting river restoration projects!

On Friday, August 28 from 4:00–6:00 p.m., community members are invited to visit Cable Pool Park in Cherryfield and learn more about the ongoing Cherryfield Fish Passage Improvement Project. Visitors are welcome to stop by at any time during the two-hour event to tour the construction site, hear updates on project progress, and connect directly with members of the project team.

This transformational project will restore fish passage along the Narraguagus River while maintaining the community’s longstanding connection to Cable Pool Park and enhancing public access to the river.

Please note: For everyone’s safety, attendees must wear closed-toe shoes, stay within designated areas, and follow any additional on-site safety guidance provided during the tour.

Directions: From Route 1 in Cherryfield, turn onto Route 193. Continue to the second left onto Stillwater Road, then take your first left onto Dam Road.

Parking: Alongside Cable Pool Road.

We hope you’ll join us to learn more about the project, ask questions, and see firsthand how this important work is helping reconnect Maine’s rivers for sea-run fish and future generations.

To learn more about the project’s history, timeline, and future plans, please visit our project landing page.
