Orange Lake Preserve
Description and Access
The 0.46-acre Orange Lake Preserve is small, but this day-use area offers a picnic spot as well as access for canoeing and kayaking on Orange Lake. The property has only one parking spot, and due to the Preserve’s small size and close proximity to privately owned homes, we ask visitors to not block the access road and be respectful of others while you enjoy the site. Visitors will see a Preserve sign and informational kiosk, located on Cardinal Lane off of Orange Lake Road in Whiting, Maine.

The Orange Lake Preserve is part of the Orange River Water Trail, a 9-mile flat-water paddling trail which includes Rocky Lake, Orange Lake and the Orange River. Many recreational opportunities can be found along this scenic water trail. Visitors should practice the “Pack-It-In, Pack-It-Out” policy while visiting this preserve.
