Pleasant River Community Forest Primitive Campsite
The primitive campsite at the Pleasant River Community Forest Preserve is our oldest and most popular tent camping location, and is located in Columbia Falls, Maine. The camp features a picnic table, fire ring, a recently replaced outhouse and canoe access on the Pleasant River. The camp is operated on a “Pack-it-in, Pack-it-out” basis. The camp can be accessed by canoe or kayak by hauling out at the following coordinates: 44.689559°N 67.7522472°W.
The camp can also be accessed on foot by hiking the River Trail from the parking area off of Tibbettstown Road in Columbia Falls after following the driving directions below.

The River Trail is the longest trail at this preserve
Tibbettstown Road Access: From US Route 1 in Columbia Falls, turn north on Epping Road and drive 2.4 miles. Turn right on Meetinghouse Road and drive 0.5 miles, and then turn right again onto Tibbettstown Road for 0.6 miles. The preserve sign and entrance will be on your right. The parking area is just ahead with room for several vehicles and an information kiosk. This is the trailhead for the River Trail leading southeast to the primitive campsite near the river.
