DSF's Land Trust featured in Writing the Land: Maine

Updated: Nov 3, 2022

Writing the Land project's virtual book launch of Writing the Land: Maine, an anthology featuring the work of poets writing conserved lands for 13 land trusts in Maine is coming up on November 5th.

Downeast Salmon Federation's poets, Rodger Martin, Suzanne S. Rancourt, and Linda Warren, along with 24 others will read at least one of their poems in recordings made mostly out on the lands themselves. These are interspersed with short videos featuring the land trusts and the work they do.

Watch DSF's sponsored poet Suzanne S. Rancourt read some of her work here.

To commemorate the launch, we are holding an in-person watch party at our conference room in the East Machias Peter Gray Hatchery!

Join us to explore and promote the work of land conservation through the arts, enjoy light refreshments, meet DSF's poets, and mingle with fellow literary Downeasters in the area.

The launch party will open with readings from our poets, as well as Downeast Coastal Conservancy's sponsored poet Valerie Lawson.

Pre-register at the link above for a discount on the anthology, Writing The Land: Maine

If you can't make it to our watch party, you can still join us virtually via Zoom!

Get in touch to reserve your place by emailing Haley at haley@mainesalmonrivers.org
