Preserve Details

Type: Limited parking, 0.1 trail to overlook/falls

Access:  Saco Rd. in Columbia ME

Size:  9.6 Acres

Access to water:  Yes, Pleasant River

Recreation Types:  Swimming, hiking, birding, botanizing, wildlife viewing.

Wildlife:  Eastern wood peewee and cuckoo 

heard, and other common passerines (perching or song birds).  Deer and bear sign observed.

Developed in partnership with the Town of Columbia, DSF owns a Conservation Easement for Saco Falls Town Park in Columbia ME.

 

This park is a community favorite on a hot summer day.  Accessed from Saco Rd. in Columbia, the preserve offers a fun place to swim, slide, and picnic.

DIRECTIONS:

From Route 1 in Columbia Falls, head north on Station Road for 2.8 miles, then continue straight onto Saco Road. Go another 1.3 miles. Saco Falls will be on the right. There is a small trail sign on the right, right before the bridge, and a small for one car to pull over.
