Preserve Details

Type: Parking, walking trail

Access:  Sprague's Falls Rd. Cherryfield ME

Size:  42.2 Acres

Access to water:  Yes, Narraguagus River

Recreation Types:  Swimming, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, birding, botanizing, wildlife viewing.

Wildlife:  Eastern wood peewee and cuckoo 

heard, and other common passerines (perching or song birds).  Deer and bear sign observed.

Sprague Falls is a hide-away where the artists who created Bambi gained inspiration. This preserve offers trails, a wonderful swimming hole, a historic  camp, and an abandoned homestead to explore. 

The Boar’s Nest Camp can be booked year round.  It is water access only, so bring your kayak or canoe for this adventure. 

DIRECTIONS:

This preserve can be accessed from Sprague's Falls Road in Cherryfield. Approximately 3 miles from Blacks Woods Road is a marked parking area where there are 2 trail heads to access the preserve.
